Electrical Tender Engineer - Wind — Melbourne CBD, Melbourne

SUMMARY Are you an experienced and driven Technical Engineer with a passion for renewable energy? We’re looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team and work alongside our tendering team and key stakeholders in delivering successful projects in the wind farm sector. In this role, you will leverage your solid technical expertise and wind farm experience to manage the full tendering process. You'll be responsible for evaluating Requests for Tender (RFPs), developing innovative solutions, and preparing comprehensive proposal deliverables. You'll collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners, taking charge of the entire opportunity from RFP receipt to contract award. THE ROLE Prepare and submit comprehensive tenders, including technical proposals, cost estimates, and project schedules, ensuring accurate and competitive estimates for materials, labor, and equipment. Review and evaluate Requests for Quotation (RFQs) from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring technical and commercial alignment with project requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information for tender submissions and work with project schedulers to develop detailed project timelines. Support contract negotiations with clients to secure project awards, ensuring compliance with all terms and maintaining accurate records of tender-related documents. Evaluate the technical and economic aspects of MV electrical subcontractors during the RFQ process to ensure alignment with industry standards and client specifications. Interpret technical drawings and schematics, providing engineering support for the installation and operation phases while ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry standards. Conduct engineering calculations to define construction, manufacturing, and installation standards, ensuring project consistency and quality. Oversee project execution to ensure completion on time, within budget, and according to established quality standards. Prepare electrical specifications for equipment and materials procurement and collaborate with engineers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure project success. Perform site visits during the tender and execution phases to monitor progress, resolve issues, and offer support to the site team during construction and commissioning. Develop strategies to mitigate project risks and implement bid governance procedures to ensure the success of the tender process. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS Valid Australian work rights. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (preferred). Experience in Wind Projects ideally within a technical field. Proficient in using PVsyst, AutoCAD, and PVcase software for wind system design, modeling, and optimization to support project development. Proven experience in tendering and bidding processes within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of project management principles. Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices.
