We are looking for a talented and motivated Platform Engineer to join our growing team, maintaining and evolving our cloud-native platform environments. day rate: $895 GST Role duration: until 19th of December Location: Melbourne Client: Gabling/gaming Responsibilities: Kubernetes Management: Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability. Implement and maintain core Kubernetes concepts, including Pods, Services, Deployments, and StatefulSets. Handle networking in Kubernetes, ensuring proper network configurations, DNS resolution, and ingress/egress routing. Configure and optimize Cluster Autoscaling and manage Node Groups to ensure efficient resource usage. AWS Infrastructure Management: Manage AWS EC2, ECS, and VPC configurations for efficient and secure cloud infrastructure management. Design, deploy, and maintain Amazon EKS clusters for containerized application deployments. Utilize AWS services such as RDS and S3 for robust storage, database management, and backup solutions. Implement and optimize IAM (Identity and Access Management) roles and policies to ensure secure access to AWS resources. CI/CD & Automation: Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Buildkite and ArgoCD for continuous integration and deployment. Create and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform for automated provisioning of resources. Use Helm charts for managing Kubernetes applications and streamline application deployments and updates. Ensure a seamless and automated release process through robust CI/CD strategies. Scripting & Automation: Write Bash/Shell scripts to automate operational tasks, including deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Utilize Python for automation, including writing scripts for managing cloud infrastructure, logs, and data pipelines. Leverage kubectl and AWS CLI to manage Kubernetes and AWS resources efficiently, ensuring smooth operations. Collaboration & Support: Work closely with development, DevOps, and product teams to design and implement cloud-native solutions. Provide guidance and support for troubleshooting issues related to cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters, and CI/CD pipelines. Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on the infrastructure and automation processes. Required Skills & Qualifications: Strong experience with Kubernetes , including core concepts, networking, Cluster Autoscaling, and Node Group management. In-depth knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, ECS, VPC, IAM, EKS, RDS, and S3. Proven experience in CI/CD and automation with tools such as CloudFormation , Terraform , Helm Charts , Buildkite , and ArgoCD . Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash/Shell and Python for automation. Familiarity with kubectl and AWS CLI for managing Kubernetes and AWS infrastructure. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure and application issues.
