Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer Location: Melbourne, Australia Salary: Competitive salary package (based on experience) Work Set-up: Onsite About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer with strong experience in mains-powered electrical systems, particularly in switch panels, circuit breakers, and electrical protection devices. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and implementing battery energy storage systems (BESS) while ensuring integration with the electrical grid. Your expertise in designing and maintaining reliable electrical systems will be crucial as we expand our innovative solutions in the energy sector. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and test electrical components and systems for battery energy storage systems (BESS). Work with mains-powered electrical systems, focusing on switch panels, circuit breakers, RCDs, MCBs, isolators, and other protective devices. Ensure all electrical installations meet relevant standards (AS/NZS 3000, 61439, 4777). Oversee the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical systems in BESS applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, firmware developers, and product managers. Lead and mentor junior electrical engineers, providing guidance and technical support. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues to ensure smooth operation and integration with grid-connected systems. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Proven experience with mains-powered electrical systems, including switchboards, circuit breakers, fuse panels, and other protective electrical devices. Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 61439, AS/NZS 4777). Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS) or power electronics is highly desirable.
