Site System Reliability Engineer — Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne Region

Excellent opportunity for a System Reliability Engineer (SRE) to help ensure the stability, performance, and reliability of key IT and OT systems. This role focuses on proactive monitoring, rapid incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of system health and operational efficiency across the clients site. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and support the health, availability, and performance of business-critical IT/OT systems Implement small-step, low-risk improvements to enhance system reliability and reduce technical debt Automate monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes where possible Collaborate with development and operations teams to define and enforce reliability standards Perform root cause analysis and contribute to post-incident reviews and long-term fixes Maintain infrastructure as code and contribute to CI/CD improvements Technical Skills Required: Strong experience with C#, SQL, and Azure Web Services Familiarity with observability tools such as Zabbix, Prometheus, and Grafana Working knowledge of Docker and containerized environments Exposure to legacy systems such as VB6 (advantageous) Other Tools & Practices: Experience using JIRA, SCRUM, and Confluence Familiarity with incident management tools like OpsGenie or similar Understanding of SRE concepts such as SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and operational runbooks Strong communication skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field 5 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles If this role sounds like you and you would like to discuss further, please call Cameron Rosie on 0432 144 784, or email cameroncompassrecruitment.com.au.
