The Technology Services Group provides the underpinning technology and expertise to support the agency's vision in the provision of government services to Australians. The Technical Engineer works under the support and general direction of senior staff. They exercise a degree of independent judgement and make decisions within defined parameters that require reliance on skills and knowledge. The Technical Engineer plans their work in the context of competing priorities and contribute to changes in workplace practices and business improvement strategies. There are multiple roles available across the branch. The key duties of the position include Providing technical support and advice that contributes to business unit outcomes. Maintaining technical system information in service tools. Assisting with monitoring and maintaining ICT Software components and performing system testing. Drafting a range of technical and corporate documentation. Scheduling and performing regular maintenance of patches and support packages. Assisting with problem and incident management and root cause analysis. Performing technical tasks and activities associated with ICT, cyber, infrastructure, applications and digital skills. Exercising appropriate delegation in accordance with legislation and guidelines.
