About the role This position reports directly to the Power Electronics Manager at Tritium Pty Ltd and is based in Murarrie, Brisbane. As the Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Electronics Products, you will lead the transition of our EV charger modules to a contract manufacturer (EMS). This critical role involves ensuring our power electronics modules are manufactured to the highest quality standards and meet cost and production targets. Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to: • Lead the NPI process for transitioning charger modules to the contract manufacturer, including scope, planning, risk management, and technology transfer. • Collaborate with product development to understand module designs, requirements, and the technology roadmap. • Participate in design freeze reviews, ensuring designs meet manufacturing capabilities and cost targets. • Assess manufacturing readiness of the contract manufacturer, manage lead times, and develop a procurement plan. • Develop, implement, and oversee testing protocols at the manufacturing facilities (EMS and Tritium Tennessee). • Drive cost management initiatives, including make/buy analysis, dual sourcing, and design-to-cost strategies for manufacturability. • Lead the Engineering Change Management (ECM) process during PVT, ensuring changes are documented and efficiently implemented. • Work with quality assurance to implement PPAP processes for suppliers, meeting required standards. • Monitor production ramp-up, addressing issues during pilot runs and scaling to full production. • Facilitate final product release, verifying all quality and performance criteria before transitioning to production. • Utilize PLM and ERP systems for BOM management, tracking changes, and maintaining documentation accuracy. • Confidently interpret technical drawings, including Altium schematics and SolidWorks outputs. • Document all NPI activities, provide status updates, and implement continuous improvement strategies. • Communicate technical concepts and project status to stakeholders effectively. • Stay current with advancements in DC fast chargers and EV technologies. • Stay informed about relevant regulations, standards, and ensure products meet regulatory and ISO9001 requirements. About you • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or Manufacturing Engineering. • Minimum of 8 years of experience in NPI, manufacturing engineering, or contract manufacturing, particularly with power electronics products. • Strong understanding of power electronics, supply chain coordination, DFM, and DFA. • Proven experience in transitioning products to contract manufacturers. • Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners. • A strong grasp of the product development lifecycle for complex systems. • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. • Proven track record of being hands-on in a manufacturing environment, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues on the factory floor. • Willingness to travel to manufacturing facilities as needed, ensuring a smooth product transition. • Exceptional attention to detail in managing BOMs, testing protocols, and technical documentation.
