Application Engineer - Protection and Secondary Systems — Bayswater, Bayswater Area

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Protection and Secondary Engineer to join our applications and products team. Based in our Melbourne or Sydney office, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead regional secondary applications support, working within a nationwide team and leveraging the support of a global business. Your Responsibilities: As the Regional Lead in your area of expertise, you will: Analyse client requirements to develop tailored protection and control solutions. Provide electrical protection services for secondary systems integration or device configuration. Work closely with our customer care team to assist customers with their day-to-day engineering and application support requirements. Engage with customers to provide product updates and training. Prepare application guides and technical memos. Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to electrical protection and secondary systems. You will have the opportunity to strengthen your existing skills and develop new ones within Australia and overseas, as part of our extensive in-house development program led by the Siemens Power Academy. Your Qualifications: You should have relevant power system qualifications or demonstrated experience in electrical power systems (generation, transmission, and/or distribution). Non-tertiary qualified candidates with relevant qualifications and/or experience are encouraged to apply. Expertise in one or more of the following areas is preferred: SIPROTEC 5 platform, including DIGSI 5 software and relay hardware. Reyrolle protection portfolio. Protection systems secondary design, including hardware integration and settings calculations. You should have expertise in two or more of high-voltage transmission, transformers, or rotating plant protection systems. IEC 61850 standard, including design and configuration of IEDs for station and process bus implementations, as well as broad familiarity with common industry protocols and networking topologies.
