Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer – Grid Integration & Energy Systems Location: Brisbane, QLD Salary: Competitive Compensation package Work Set-up: Hybrid (3 days onsite and 2 days WFH) About the Role: As a Senior Electrical Engineer – Grid Integration & Energy Systems , you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and integrating advanced electrical systems that enable the seamless connection of the company’s fast-charging solutions to the grid. You will work on power electronics, energy storage integration, and compliance with global grid standards to ensure high efficiency and reliability in our charging infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and integration of power systems for DC fast charging solutions, ensuring grid compliance and optimal performance. Develop electrical schematics, protection systems, and control strategies for efficient power conversion and distribution. Optimize product compatibility with third-party systems, including battery energy storage and renewable energy resources. Develop and enhance DC microgrid solutions, a rapidly growing sector in the industry. Contribute to smart grid advancements, with a strong focus on battery energy storage integration. Collaborate with utilities, grid operators, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with local and international grid codes. Conduct power system modeling, simulations, and analysis for grid-connected and off-grid charging applications. Work closely with cross-functional teams including firmware, mechanical, quality and manufacturing engineers to drive innovation in the company’s products Provide technical expertise on energy storage integration, power factor correction, and grid stability solutions. Identify and resolve technical challenges related to grid integration, electrical safety, and system reliability. Support the development of test procedures and participate in validation activities for new and existing charging technologies. Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field Experience: 5 years in electrical engineering, preferably specializing in EV chargers, grid integration, power electronics, or renewable energy systems Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of grid codes and standards (IEEE 1547, IEC 61850, AS/NZS 4777, NER) Expertise in DC Micro Grid Architecture (circuits under 1500VDC protection, or distributed energy resources) Proficiency in power system analysis (load flow, short circuit, harmonics, transient stability) Familiarity with protection and control schemes for high and low-voltage networks Expertise in power conversion systems (inverters, rectifiers, DC-DC converters) Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and grid integration Hands-on experience with SCADA systems and communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850) Skilled in power system modeling tools (PSCAD, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, MATLAB/Simulink) Key Competencies: Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in fast-paced environments Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Perks and Benefits: Work in a cutting-edge environment with state-of-the-art testing facilities Be part of a team delivering innovative solutions, including high-power chargers Hands-on engineering opportunities with advanced testing equipment Continuous exposure to new designs, modular projects, and exciting challenges Collaborative, innovative culture that values creativity and teamwork Professional growth and development in a thriving embedded systems environment Sponsorship on offer for standout candidates Help Us Power the Future of Smart Infrastructure Are you passionate about advanced power solutions and system integration?
