About the Role We are seeking an experience Engineering Manager to take a lead role in the delivery of large-scale solar and BESS projects. This is an opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of utility-scale renewable energy developments, from concept through to commissioning. In this role, you’ll provide both strategic leadership and hands-on technical guidance, overseeing the engineering function and coordinating internal teams, external consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution. Key Responsibilities Lead engineering efforts throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring quality, accuracy, and adherence to timelines. Support business development activities and stakeholder engagement to contribute to project pipeline growth. Oversee the creation and review of project schedules, cost estimates, energy yield models, and supplier quotations. Provide technical expertise in HV protection and control, and play a key role during commissioning phases. Manage grid connection processes and collaborate with utilities and consultants to deliver optimal interconnection solutions. Develop accurate cost estimates for EPC tenders and review project scopes and technical requirements. Coordinate external engineering consultants, surveyors, and specialists to support project design and delivery. Guide internal and external designers on drawing packages and ensure high-quality project documentation. Work closely with the construction and operations teams to optimise procurement, site execution, and project controls. Continuously identify opportunities to improve designs, processes, and project outcomes. About You Tertiary qualification in PV or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline). 10 years of engineering experience in the commercial, industrial or utility-scale solar sector. Minimum of 5 years in the design, construction, and commissioning of PV or BESS plants. Proficiency in design and simulation software such as AutoCAD, Cablizer, PowerFactory, and PVsyst. Strong understanding of HV systems, including protection and control. Demonstrated experience managing projects from concept to completion. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills. Ability to work effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
