The Opportunity: As the NOC Engineer you will be responsible for Level 1 management of incidents and faults within the network in Sydney Trains Rail Operations Center. The NOC Engineer shall work with the client and SYSTRA subject matter experts to ensure contracted KPIs are met each month and coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure availability of the network. The role is shift-based working (24/7/365) with occasional office and training days. The role will be primarily based in the Sydney Trains Rail Operations Center (ROC) in Alexandria NSW, with office days in North Sydney. Key Responsibilities: Proficient in cellular network NMS tools. Proficient in SAP Asset Management and Service Cloud. Respond promptly to incidents and meet contracted performance KPIs. Actively manage resolution of all faults within contracted SLAs. Perform preventative maintenance tasks and manage routine maintenance. Conduct audits of system backups and system health checks. Required Qualifications: Minimum 5 years’ experience in a cellular network NOC and a customer support role. GSM (2G) experience preferred. Knowledge of Huawei and Nokia RAN, core, and transmission equipment in 2G/4G/5G cellular networks. Knowledge of network logfile, call trace, and event analysis. Knowledge of Huawei BTS equipment, network statistics, and configuration. Knowledge of cybersecurity in telecommunications networks. Knowledge of GSM-R railway telecommunications systems and network equipment vendors. Knowledge of Nokia virtualized network solutions.
