Role Overview This role will focus on the design and development of integrations for a newly established platform using Azure Integration Services (AIS). You will work directly with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver a robust integration platform. The initial 3-6 months will focus on platform design, with ongoing integration work and project delivery. You will be involved in the hands-on development of integrations using Azure services such as Logic Apps, API Management, and Service Bus, with a key emphasis on quality, security, and scalability. This is a critical role in delivering seamless integrations that align with the company's long-term goals. As the platform design evolves, you will play a central role in determining how the system interfaces with other critical applications. Your ability to analyse complex requirements and deliver solutions that meet performance, security, and integration standards will be key. The impact of your work will directly influence the company's overall digital transformation, shaping the future of their technological infrastructure. You will also collaborate closely with other engineers and technical teams, ensuring that all components of the platform function as intended. By providing detailed technical documentation and maintaining a focus on continuous improvement, you will help streamline development and deployment processes across environments. Your input will also contribute to refining best practices, ensuring the team can scale effectively and maintain the highest standards of quality. Responsibilities Design and develop robust integration solutions using Azure services Implement and manage integrations between different systems and platforms Collaborate with stakeholders to define integration requirements Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of integration solutions Provide technical guidance and support throughout the development lifecycle Leverage Azure Bicep or Terraform for infrastructure as code Document integration processes, standards, and development guidelines Act as a key technical liaison between the project team and external vendors Candidate Profile You'll bring 5-6 years of hands-on experience delivering enterprise-grade solutions using Azure Integration Services (AIS). You're highly competent in designing and building scalable, reusable integration patterns that support both real-time and asynchronous communication. Ideally, you've worked across different environments and understand how to tailor cloud-native integration designs that align with broader platform architecture. You're confident translating ambiguous business requirements into robust technical solutions, with a strong grasp of integration best practices around security, exception handling, monitoring, and performance optimisation. You'll be leading by example - not only developing integrations, but defining integration contracts, modelling message flows, and ensuring alignment to enterprise architecture standards. You'll also be responsible for identifying potential risks in proposed designs and suggesting scalable alternatives based on experience. You'll need to be comfortable collaborating with architects, developers, and business stakeholders - able to discuss technical solutions clearly and back design decisions with rationale. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for AIS components, Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Bicep or ARM templates), and version control practices will be highly regarded. Your ability to work autonomously while maintaining high standards in code quality, documentation, and deployment discipline will be essential in a fast-moving, agile team environment. This role requires a solutions-focused mindset, balancing technical depth with a clear understanding of platform strategy and design governance. You should bring an opinionated but collaborative approach, helping to evolve the platform through practical, technically sound design contributions. Experience in high-throughput, event-driven architectures or hybrid integration scenarios (on-prem/cloud) will give you a strong edge.
