Machine Learning Engineer — Melbourne CBD, Melbourne

Skillfield is growing—and we’re looking for a Machine Learning Engineer who’s passionate about building real-world machine-learning solutions. This role is ideal for someone with a few years of experience under their belt, who’s ready to take their skills to the next level. You'll be part of a collaborative team, solving business problems with machine learning models and contributing to delivery across industries like telco, utilities, and beyond. What You’ll Be Doing Deliver production grade ML inference, training and monitoring pipelines from development through to production Build and validate machine learning models to solve real business challenges Collaborate on model optimisation, evaluation, and deployment Support data preparation, wrangling, and feature engineering tasks as needed Work with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) to build scalable solutions Engage with clients—presenting insights and contributing to technical delivery What We're Looking For Solid experience in Python and ML libraries (e.g. scikit-learn, XGBoost, pandas) Hands-on experience with Azure or AWS Understanding of ML lifecycle—from training to deployment Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn Comfortable in client-facing settings or keen to grow into one Bonus: Experience with MLOps tools (e.g. MLflow, Airflow, Docker, Databricks) Why Skillfield Work with a tight-knit, high-performing team delivering real impact Career progression pathways with access to mentoring and training Hybrid working with flexible arrangements Work on projects across sectors like energy, telco, and enterprise
