Job Description AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer We are looking for a AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join a dynamic team that is driving the transformation of an established, on-prem leader into a cutting-edge cloud-first business. You’ll be instrumental in optimising and scaling the cloud infrastructure, ensuring its financial efficiency, and leading the charge on cloud observability. With a strong backing from leadership, you'll help drive best practices, improve performance metrics, and lay the foundation for the future growth of the cloud division. Key Responsibilities Design and refine AWS cloud environments to ensure seamless performance and effortless scaling as business demands grow. Evaluate and enhance cloud infrastructure to efficiently support 1,000-1,500 users while maintaining optimal performance. Utilise Infrastructure as Code tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform to automate and standardise deployments. Control cloud spending by applying AWS FinOps principles, identifying inefficiencies, and optimising cost structures. Monitor and analyse cloud environments using tools like Datadog or other observability platforms to preempt issues before they impact users. Strengthen security and resilience by proactively refining disaster recovery strategies, monitoring performance metrics, and enforcing best-in-class security frameworks. Develop scalable, efficient, and cost-effective cloud solutions while documenting processes to ensure smooth operations. Engage with enterprise clients and stakeholders to ensure cloud infrastructure meets stringent security, performance, and compliance standards. Push the boundaries of innovation by challenging current methods and introducing AWS best practices—all while ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations. Mentor and upskill team members in cloud, automation, and security best practices. Tech Stack & Tools Cloud: AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, etc.) Infrastructure as Code: Terraform or CloudFormation Observability & Monitoring: Datadog or similar tools Cost Optimisation & FinOps: AWS native tools or third-party solutions Security & Compliance: AWS security best practices and governance Ideal Candidate Profile Proven AWS experience in a similar SaaS, healthcare, retail, or corporate environment. Strong understanding of cloud cost management (FinOps). Experience in designing scalable cloud architecture and optimizing infrastructure. Ability to navigate complex team dynamics, deal with pushback, and influence change. Hands-on approach with battle scars to prove it—this is not a theoretical role. Experience working across global teams & time zones (Eastern Europe a plus). Solid grasp of AWS security, DR planning, and cloud financial governance.
