Data Engineer — Brisbane, Brisbane Region

Eden Ritchie is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support the delivery of a proof-of-concept Data Lake Pilot, working with modern Azure technologies in a Brisbane-based team. Duration – Approx. 2 months Location – Brisbane CBD As the Senior Data Engineer, your key responsibilities will include: • Designing scalable and efficient data architecture within an Azure environment • Developing and implementing ETL/ELT processes to transform raw datasets • Building and optimising data pipelines for reliable data flow • Ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency across systems • Managing and optimising databases, including access controls and compliance • Collaborating with analysts, internal stakeholders, and IT partners to meet reporting needs • Uplifting internal capability by mentoring and supporting key team members • Maintaining comprehensive documentation to support knowledge transfer Desirable Requirements & Skills: • Experience with Azure technologies such as Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and Data Factory • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark (e.g. PySpark) • Knowledge of medallion architecture and building data lakes/lakehouses • Experience ingesting data from REST APIs and external sources • Familiarity with GitHub and CI/CD processes (e.g. GitHub Actions) • Strong database management, data modelling, and schema design skills • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills • Experience in capability building and working in government environments is highly regarded • Relevant qualifications in IT or a related field are desirable • Azure Data Engineer Associate Certification If this role sounds like you, please APPLY NOW and submit your resume in WORD format .
