We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Water Group. In Western Australia, our 90-year partnership with the water sector has cultivated strong client relationships and a deep understanding of their challenges, equipping us to assist them in preparing for what lies ahead. Our team is very well known for water infrastructure and water resources engineering and science consulting, collaborating with industry leaders like Water Authorities, major mining firms and Defence among others. This diverse role will be responsible for leading various consulting studies and process design tasks for water utilities, local government, and resources industry clients. You will be technically skilled in water/wastewater treatment projects and will exercise sound judgement and initiative while undertaking your project responsibilities. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Supporting the delivery of water and wastewater projects locally, regionally and globally from our base in Perth by working on a wide variety of projects and a range of tasks. Providing technical input to challenges involving water and wastewater treatment processes, on projects ranging from moderate to large scale, to deliver technical services from project feasibility through to completion and handover. Contributing to the preparation of proposals, specifications, drawings and technical reports providing creative solutions to fit the needs of our clients and communities Working as part of an integrated team coordinating your inputs with the wider team and overseeing and facilitating knowledge sharing by providing mentoring and support to junior team members. Developing and enhancing client relationship through direct client liaison and working with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions. What would you bring to the team? Experience in design and specification of mechanical equipment for water and wastewater treatment across municipal and industrial applications, experience in construction, commissioning or operation of treatment plants is a plus. The role will typically involve working on or being responsible for several concurrent tasks, proposals or projects and therefore ability to manage competing priorities in a professional and proactive manner is highly desirable. Proven ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively both across our business and externally. Experience in engineering consulting working to define and deliver solutions for clients. Strong writing and communication skills to produce high quality reports, proposals and to liaise with clients.
