Reliability Engineer - Specialist — Perth, Perth Region

This role is based in Saudi Arabia, with a full-relocation package offered. Please do not apply for this position unless you are willing to relocate to Saudi Arabia Join one of the world’s most profitable and innovative energy leaders as they seek an experienced Reliability Engineer to support the critical operations of their Rotating Equipment Division under the Equipment Consulting Services Department. This division provides expert technical consultation across operational sites and mega-projects, playing a key role in maximising reliability, enhancing equipment performance, and pioneering cutting-edge solutions to some of the industry’s most complex challenges. Role Overview As a Reliability Engineer, you will be a key technical advisor focused on enhancing the integrity, performance, and longevity of rotating equipment across the company’s upstream and downstream facilities. You will support the full lifecycle of rotating systems, from design and commissioning through to root cause analysis, risk mitigation, and strategic innovation. This is a rare opportunity to influence large-scale operations from early-stage design through to full deployment, while helping shape engineering best practices for one of the world’s largest integrated energy companies. Key Responsibilities Provide advanced technical support on reliability strategies for rotating equipment used in critical facilities and mega-projects. Lead proactive reliability studies and implement recommendations to avoid future failures and optimise system performance. Conduct and oversee detailed root cause analyses for rotating equipment and systems. Recommend and help implement new technologies to improve equipment reliability and operational performance. Develop and maintain company engineering standards and best practices relating to rotating equipment. Offer expert input into maintenance metrics, KPIs, and system architecture for performance evaluation. Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to support both legacy systems and new capital projects. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering. Minimum of 20 years of experience in maintenance and operations, ideally within the oil, gas, or petrochemical sectors. Proven expertise in reliability engineering practices for rotating equipment in industrial environments. Professional certification such as Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) is strongly preferred. Familiarity with global reliability standards and emerging technologies for predictive maintenance.
