ML / AI Engineer — Castle Hill, The Hills District

As a ML / AI Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge solutions that transform how we process documents and visual data. The Challenge: In the world of intelligent automation, every document, every image holds a wealth of untapped information. Your job? To build powerful ML models that extract this valuable data, making it accessible, actionable, and useful. From object detection to spatial analysis, you’ll create pipelines that turn raw data into insights that drive real change. What You’ll Do: Design and develop ML models to extract structured data from complex documents and images Create robust pipelines for object detection, classification, and spatial analysis Work alongside product and engineering teams to bring AI-powered features to life Continuously optimise model performance to improve accuracy and impact You'll help to develop a product that you'll be able to see your colleagues using every day & later get to see it being used all around Australia What We’re Looking For: 5 years experience with ML / AI Experience in computer vision, optical character recognition (OCR), and document AI (LayoutLM, OpenCV, Tesseract) Strong Python skills and proficiency in ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, HuggingFace) Cloud deployment experience (GCP preferred but open to discussion) Experience bringing product to market from early concept stage Knowledge of spatial data extraction or layout recognition of interest Excellent communication skills This role will involve working with a small team of developers on energy-saving products, so any related experience is also a plus. You must have working rights in Australia: Australian citizen, permanent resident, or a suitable working visa. We cannot provide sponsorship for this role. The role is onsite in Castle Hill in Sydney, however there may also be the option of working from the Gold Coast if you're a strong candidate for the role.
