Our Telecommunications client has a permanent opening for Fibre Provisioning Engineer. The role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne. Position Overview: The Dark Fiber Provisioning Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end provisioning of dark fibre services, ensuring all technical and operational aspects are completed accurately and on schedule. This role involves close coordination with internal teams, external partners, and customers to deliver services that meet project goals and exceed customer expectations. Key responsibilities include project management, technical troubleshooting, customer communication, and thorough documentation. Key Skills and Responsibilities Project Management Manage and oversee multiple dark fibre provisioning projects simultaneously. Coordinate resources, timelines, and deliverables to ensure all projects meet specified goals and customer expectations. Technical Knowledge Demonstrate a strong understanding of dark fibre networks, including technical specifications, industry standards, and best practices. Possess advanced technical troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues that may arise during provisioning, ensuring a seamless activation process. Communication Interact effectively with both customers and internal teams, providing clear updates, managing expectations, and addressing any questions or concerns throughout the provisioning process. Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during provisioning, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction. Attention to Detail Ensure accuracy in every step of the provisioning process, meticulously verifying demarcations and setups to prevent activation issues and ensure high-quality service delivery. Problem-Solving Take a proactive approach to handle unexpected challenges during the provisioning phase, using problem-solving skills to quickly address and resolve issues. Escalate complex issues appropriately to ensure timely resolution and minimal impact on project timelines and customer satisfaction. Documentation and Reporting Maintain comprehensive records of all provisioning activities, including demarcations, project milestones, and customer communications. Generate timely and accurate reports to support transparency, track progress, and assist in troubleshooting or follow-up as needed. Qualification Minimum 5 years of experience in network provisioning, preferably within dark fibre, telecommunications, or connectivity sectors. Good understanding of network protocols, optical transmission, and related equipment. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
