More About the Role at Deloitte About our team Deloitte’s Cloud and Engineering Practice helps clients realise the potential of transformational capabilities to solve their most challenging issues. We improve their agility and resilience and identify opportunities to optimise their technology usage. We also accelerate our clients towards a technology-driven future, by implementing vendor solutions as well as Deloitte-developed software solutions and tools. What will your typical day look like? Depending on your experience, you will; - Engage with clients to understand their technical and business requirements, offering strategic guidance and actionable solutions. - Design and Deliver robust and scalable container-based platforms using Kubernetes, Docker, and orchestration tools. - Design and maintain flexible, automated cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.). - Automate system deployments and manage configuration across environments with tools like Ansible or Puppet. - Write clean, maintainable code and create “just enough” clean, useful documentation. - Build reusable assets and contribute to the Platform Engineering knowledge base. - Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and provide consultative support through architecture reviews and technical recommendations. - Contribute to technical pre-sales efforts, including estimation, solution architecture, and proposal development. - Support client enablement through documentation, training, and ongoing advisory as part of platform adoption. Required interpersonal skills/experience - Strong technical leadership and the ability to influence and communicate with different audiences. - Able to lead or assist in the creation and development of engineering platform roadmaps, including performing current state analysis, defining the future state and creating the roadmap to the future state architecture. - Takes responsibility for the architecture direction of the solution and mentorship of junior team members Required role specific skills/experience - Strong experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Expertise in containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools like Kubernetes, Openshift, Rancher, or Swarm. - Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates. - Familiarity with DevOps toolchains including CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD). - Solid understanding of Linux systems and experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet). - Experience with Java development, especially for integrations and infrastructure-related tooling. - Good understanding of security and performance considerations in cloud-based environments. - Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills using structured, methodical approaches. - Experience helping clients define technical and non-functional requirements.
