About the Role Our client, a technology startup, is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join their growing team. This is a unique opportunity working with real-time data, so you will need experience working with latency sensitive, high frequency and real-time data. Key Responsibilities Take ownership of CI/CD workflows and production dataflows Develop backend data pipelines that support real-time data processing Build tools to efficiently collect, transform, and store complex sports data from multiple sources Introduce safeguards and monitoring tools to catch anomalies and maintain data accuracy Translate requirements into scalable engineering solutions in collaboration with the research team Play an active role in shaping engineering standards while supporting the growth of less experienced team members Skills and Experience Our client is seeking an experienced end-to-end Data Engineer (minimum 3 years experience). You must have experience with real-time streaming systems (think Kafka, Kinesis or ZeroMQ) and well-versed in Python, SQL and C# or C++. You must be based in Sydney and willing to work in the office for at least 2-3 days. As this is a new, growing startup focusing on sports, some weekend work is expected during the early phases.
