Upskill and receive financial assistance for further education. About the Opportunity An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Backfill Engineer to join our Golden Grove operation in Western Australia. In this role, you will report to the Backfill Superintendent and work on an 8:6 roster. Your focus will be on coordinating cemented hydraulic fill (CHF) and paste fill operations to deliver timely, high-quality, and cost-effective backfill. Your primary responsibilities will include: Developing and implementing backfill plans aligned with mine plans and budgets. Reviewing and updating procedures, response plans, and databases to improve operational efficiency. Managing budgets, schedules, and procurement for backfill operations. Overseeing backfill placement, barricade installations, and the performance of paste and CHF reticulation systems. Leading QA/QC activities, including routine material analysis and compliance with management plans. Ensuring compliance with legal, safety, and environmental standards while promoting a safety-focused culture. About You Our preferred candidate will have a background as a mining or geotechnical engineer in underground hard rock environments, with strong experience in backfill operations. Other key skills, experience, and qualifications: A tertiary qualification in mining engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a related discipline. Experience in managing CHF or paste activities. Familiarity with backfill instrumentation and monitoring. Knowledge of mine design and mine scheduling tools (e.g., MineCAD, Surpac, Deswik, etc.) Current C-class manual driver’s licence.
