Pre Contracts Engineer — Brisbane, Brisbane Region

ROBAR Civil is a civil construction business that specializes in the delivery of Complex Civil Infrastructure projects ranging across Australia. An exciting opportunity for a PE or SPE seeking to transition into an office-based role as a Pre Contracts Engineer. The role will predominantly involve the management of tender opportunities, implementing existing Work Winning processes, and acting as the baton between HQ and site during Project Start Ups. The role is ideally suited to someone that wants to take their field and contracting experience and apply that knowledge to a broad range of project opportunities. Duties will include but are not limited to: Forming tender proposals including, pricing, methodologies, and schedules from a first-principals build-up, using previous project and site experience. Coordinate bids, including input from 3rd parties regarding schedules and estimating support. Establish bid strategies for new tenders (with input from senior management) Risk & Opportunity, Qualifications and Technical / Contract departures development. Act as a primary point of contact for clients, providing timely and accurate information regarding pre-construction timelines, processes, and milestones. Address client queries and concerns with professionalism and courtesy, fostering positive client relationships throughout the pre-construction phase. Coordinate pre-contract activities ensuring timely completion of tasks such as tender queries, presentation, contract reviews, etc. Understanding of non-priced elements for bids i.e. HSEQ deliverables, manning histograms, etc. Compiling of RFQ documentation for subcontractors and suppliers. Involvement in Tender to Project handover for new projects Predominantly Head Office based, with some site visits as required for tenders or project handover Skills and Experience: Min. 7 years of field experience on civil infrastructure projects. Ability to form tenders, methodologies, and schedules from a first-principals build-up. Experience driving estimating software (Expert, Candy, or benchmark) is desirable but not essential Microsoft package proficiency, in particular MS Project and Excel A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction management or a related field Significant experience and exposure to management of stringent client specifications A successful track record of handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
