This role is based in Saudi Arabia, with a full-relocation package offered. Please do not apply for this position unless you are willing to relocate to Saudi Arabia Join a global energy leader as they seek a highly specialised Process Engineer – Naphtha Reforming to join their Downstream Process Engineering Division within the Process & Control Systems Department. This role supports the optimisation of reforming technologies across world-scale facilities, leveraging expertise in CCR (Continuous Catalyst Regeneration), catalytic, and semi-regenerative reforming to drive innovation, efficiency, and operational excellence. Role Overview As a Process Engineer – Naphtha Reforming, you’ll evaluate, enhance, and troubleshoot reforming processes using advanced modelling tools and collaborate across departments to deliver technical solutions. Your expertise in reforming catalyst technologies and process simulation will play a crucial role in enhancing refinery performance. You’ll also engage with licensors and technology vendors to implement best-in-class innovations and mentor future reforming specialists. Key Responsibilities Design, review, and optimise operating parameters for naphtha reforming units, including CCR and semi-regenerative systems. Evaluate reforming catalyst performance and advise on technology selection to improve efficiency and product quality. Troubleshoot operational issues and provide high-level technical support across facilities. Conduct process simulation studies using software such as HYSYS to identify and implement improvements. Collaborate with leading licensors (e.g. UOP, Axens) and vendors to integrate new technologies. Document and present reforming process innovations and contribute to internal technical knowledge bases. Mentor junior engineers and technicians to build reforming expertise across the division. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (Master’s preferred). 20 years’ experience in refinery or petrochemical operations, with at least 5 years focused on CCR technologies. Familiarity with multiple reforming process licensors such as UOP and Axens. Proficiency in HYSYS and other process simulation tools. Demonstrated innovation and IP development (patents in reforming technology is a plus). Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
