Mechanical Engineer — Footscray, Maribyrnong Area

We have some awesome opportunities available across the Defence sector and our latest role for a 3-month contract supporting a key client of ours designing in-house military communications and signalling systems working with a world-class team where you will be exposed to the full engineering life-cycle from design, manufacture, test and deployment. Contract: 3-months duration Role: Mechanical Engineer Location: West Melbourne Project: Military Role and responsibilities: Design and model mechanical and electronic systems as required to meet Project objectives Assist the Engineering Team in Certification Testing CAD modelling and drafting Overmould engineering support Plan, define, develop, and document functional, systems, acceptance, and performance and certification tests to uncover defects, improve the overall quality of hardware elements and to demonstrate compliance with the specification. Create hardware designs, verification documents, production plans, work instructions and quality control documents in support of the product design, development and manufacture process. Qualifications & Experience Essential Bachelor's degree or above in mechanical, mechatronic or robotic engineering Ability to evaluate hardware products/components Experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD package Ability to undertake hardware test design Experience working in a team environment Full working rights in Australia, Aus Citizenship ideal Desirable Experience in military systems design, test and integration Understanding of the life-cycles of defence projects Well-developed communication skills (both written and oral) Ability to work with others in a team environment, including If you think you match the above role, please apply in Word format.
