DevOps Engineer Location: Australia (Remote/Hybrid options available) Type: Full-time About the Role: We are recruiting for a leading tech company in the SaaS space that is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and scaling the infrastructure for a globally distributed customer-facing platform. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in cloud-based infrastructure, automation, and keeping systems reliable and performant at scale. The position requires expertise in designing infrastructure for global availability, with an emphasis on performance, uptime, and cost-effectiveness. Key Responsibilities: Automate and manage infrastructure for predictable and secure operations. Maintain and optimise infrastructure for both production and development environments. Utilise CI/CD tools (e.g., Git, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) to manage continuous integration and deployment processes. Manage and scale infrastructure using tools like SaltStack and Terraform to automate provisioning and configuration. Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines specifically for mobile app development (Android/iOS). Collaborate with mobile app teams to ensure the infrastructure supports push notifications, real-time updates, and API rate-limiting. Implement monitoring and observability solutions to track key metrics, including API performance, network latency, and crash reporting. Manage Linux/Unix systems and administer enterprise-grade backups with secure data encryption practices. Troubleshoot and resolve production outages quickly for a global platform. Design highly available systems and ensure the architecture supports a microservices approach. Leverage containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes to create scalable, reusable infrastructure. Continuously improve automation processes and infrastructure based on evolving best practices in DevOps. Collaborate with system architects to design and propose new infrastructure and technology solutions. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred). 5 years of experience in a DevOps role, including expertise in CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud platforms (AWS), and infrastructure automation. 5 years of experience working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or SaltStack. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Go (ability to read and understand code is key). Strong understanding of container technologies (Kubernetes) and networking tools like HAProxy and ALB. Experience with designing and maintaining RESTful microservices architecture. Ability to design and scale global, highly available infrastructure. Australian citizens or permanent residents are preferred, with no work restrictions in Australia. Why Join?
