Control System Engineer — Tullamarine, Hume Area

Are you passionate about modern technology and autonomous systems? Join this Client's Team and help deliver high-quality products for the mining industry. In this role, you'll be a key player in ensuring the delivery of top-notch products. The systems enable autonomous machine operations, production recording, and monitoring in underground mining using onboard and offboard software and systems. You'll be part of the Controls Software Team, working closely with stakeholders to meet schedule, process, and quality goals. Following Scrum and SAFe Agile methodologies, you'll develop control software for remote-controlled machines, troubleshoot and fix software bugs, and address architecture defects. Your work will involve delivering quality software solutions with thorough code reviews and validations, and collaborating with architects and cross-disciplinary teams to solve challenging problems. We're looking for someone with a degree in Engineering (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD) and at least 3 years of relevant experience. You should have strong analytical skills and knowledge of control theories, as well as experience with algorithm development, simulations, and performance analysis. Advanced skills in C++, Python, and object-oriented programming are essential, along with experience developing software for multi-threaded embedded applications and good debugging skills. Good communication and collaboration skills are a plus, as is knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns, and test-driven development. The ability to work independently and communicate effectively in various work environments is important, as is being self-motivated to solve problems and guide changes. Familiarity with interfaces, databases, microservices, middleware, and Linux OS would be beneficial.
