Network Engineer (HFT) — Sydney, Sydney Region

Network Engineer Algorithmic Trading Company Weekend and Weekday Work $200k to $600k PA made up of Base salary and Bonus From colo design and implementation to optimising our exchange connectivity and building world-class, low-latency Wide Area Networks This role will involve weekend work. Saturday and Sunday are 12-hour shifts, which can be done from home. The other two weekdays will need to be spent in the Sydney office so you can be close to the action on trading days. This role would suit someone who loves Operations work, who loves solving complex problems and can automate Networks. You will be part of the Global Team, working closely with some of the brightest minds in the industry, and making an impact on the company's success. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on one of the highest-performing networks in the world, with multiple resources at their disposal. You will be an exceptional Network Engineer who can collaborate closely with various teams and continue to elevate infrastructure to the next level. Day to Day Utilise monitoring tools to locate, diagnose and resolve network-related issues throughout the Network Infra. Communicate the impact of network-related issues to traders, developers and company-wide employees. Work with multiple teams to implement and optimise network infrastructure for proprietary ultra-low-latency trading applications at various data centres worldwide. Take an automated data-driven approach to diagnosing and solving complex network infrastructure problems and issues. Support and troubleshoot a hybrid wired and wireless high-performance network environment Use your automation skills and take a “DevOps” approach to improving the efficiency of solving complex network infrastructure issues, network management, and maintenance of trading applications. Documentation of new processes and procedures to improve team efficiency Have a high energy level, am results-driven, and can work under pressure with tight deadlines. Experience: Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting of IP networking and TCP/ IP Advanced understanding of Switching, Routing (BGP) and Multicast (IGMP, PIM) Basic knowledge of Linux Administration and scripting Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work well as part of a global team in a high-pressure environment. Encourage participation and value collaboration with all team members spread across multiple locations. Demonstrates excellent judgment, ability to evaluate short and long-term impact, and confidence to select and execute decisions when required and take full responsibility for results Basic level application support Be able to run applications on Linux Willing to work a weekend shift schedule Reliable and predictable availability Potential Weekend Shift work: Australian Winter: 9 am till 9 pm Australian Summer: 11 am- 11 pm Please apply below Craig Colvin @ Mode Talent Group Australia
