Fleet reliability performance – electrical or mechanical Diverse career growth and development opportunities Tier 1 Engineering Services Company UGLs Manufacturing & Maintenance business are seeking an experienced Fleet Performance Engineer to join our collaborative and high performing team, based at our Newcastle Operations, Hunter Valley Maintenance Centre (HVMC) in Hamilton North, Newcastle. About Your Role As the Fleet Performance Engineer , you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our locomotive fleets. You will have the opportunity to collaborate across departments and contribute to additional projects, showcasing your expertise to maintain and improve the performance of locomotives, focusing on both electrical and mechanical systems. Reporting to the Asset Management Team , your responsibilities will include: Asset Performance Management (APM): Develop APM processes, monitoring, and reporting techniques. Ensure reliability and adherence to asset performance reporting processes.Manage and correct asset performance data for accuracy and quality reporting. Investigate and report component failures to identify their causes.Facilitate continuous improvement processes including RCA, Defect Elimination, FRACAS, and reliability initiative management.Analyse data to identify emerging failure modes and problematic systems to optimize performance within contractual and budget limits. Review locomotive fleet performance and report monthly to customers. Respond to locomotive and other rollingstock technical/engineering queries or problems that have been escalated via workshop subject matter expert(s) Asset Strategy Management (ASM): Develop ASM processes, monitoring, and reporting frameworks. Assist in developing and reporting maintenance strategy and planning compliance. Conduct data analysis to optimize maintenance strategies. Execute maintenance requirements analysis, involving FMECA and RCM methods for UGL projects. Support the quality audit process conducted by the UGL quality function. About You Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent technical and practical experience Experience in the rail industry or related heavy industry sector Strong collaborative skills to build relationships across diverse teams Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Enthusiasm for embracing new technologies and methodologies Why UGL?
