About the Opportunity The Cloud FinOps Engineer will play a key role in managing, optimizing , and ensuring cost efficiency in our cloud infrastructure platforms. The role will collaborate closely with Engineering and Operations teams to drive cloud financial transparency, enable cost-effective decision-making, and implement best practices for cloud cost management. Using a deep understanding of cloud cost management, financial operations, and cost management tools and practices , the r ole will influence cloud usage behaviour, establish financial accountability in cloud services, and contribute to the financial success of the company’s cloud strategy. Cloud Cost Optimization & Reporting: Monitor and optimize cloud expenditures (AWS, Azure). Build dashboards to track usage, costs, and trends. Collaborate with finance and technical teams on forecasts, budgets, and cost allocations. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend actions. Develop and enforce best practices to control cloud spending Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps) : Implement cloud FinOps practices for budgeting, cost visibility, and chargebacks. Work with finance and engineering to ensure accurate reporting and allocation. Enforce governance policies and analyse cost variances for financial accuracy. Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with engineering, product, and finance teams to drive cloud cost awareness and support financial decisions. Provide training on cost management practices and deliver regular financial performance reports to senior leadership. Tooling & Automation: Use cloud financial tools (e.g., CloudHealth, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management) to monitor, forecast, and analyze spend. Automate cost reporting, alerts, and optimization using scripting and APIs. Ensure accurate integration of billing and usage data into financial systems. Cloud Governance & Compliance: Establish and enforce cloud cost policies for resource provisioning and decommissioning. Ensure resource usage aligns with budgets, security standards, and company goals. Ability and willingness to participate in an out-of-hours roster to support technology changes, as required . About You You’re a proactive professional with 3 years of experience in cloud financial operations and infrastructure management, with a strong understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. You’re skilled in cloud cost optimization, financial reporting, and using tools such as AWS Cost Explorer, CloudHealth, and Azure Cost Management. You excel at analyzing data, creating budgets, and communicating financial insights to both technical and non-technical teams. You work independently in fast-paced environments and ensure compliance with privacy, security, and fraud prevention standards, contributing to a culture of integrity. Ideally, you hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Finance, or a related field, and a FinOps certification. Experience with cloud automation tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and advanced scripting skills (e.g., Python, Shell) is a plus.
