Senior Infrastructure Engineer — City, North Canberra

Job Description Senior Infrastructure Engineer Approximate 12-month contract with possibility of extension | Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide Location | Pay rate dependent on experience OVERVIEW Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their team. Within this role you will implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Design/evaluate/implement infrastructure requirements to meet future infrastructure demand. Provide expert technical support for project build, test and solution deployment activities. Prepare, review and maintain documentation which may include design documentation, implementation plans, test plans, and support procedures. Assist in the development and implementation of strategies, operational policy and procedures and change initiatives. Participate in change management process and communicate the end-to-end implications of configuration changes. Undertake research on emerging technologies and provide recommendations on product suitability for the agency. Engage and partner with other agencies and service providers to build service delivery capability. Encourage innovation, continuous improvement and manage and support change and influence and contribute to ICT strategy resolving conflicts as needed. EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS Experience with the following: F5, Palo Alto/Cisco Firewalls, Cisco Routers and Switches, Infoblox/BlueCat DNS/DHCP Services, Cisco Email Security Solution, and Cisco Secure Client or VPN solution. Experience with designing, coding, verifying, testing, documenting, amending and refactoring simple programs/scripts. Experience with contributing to the development of installation procedures and standards.
