Senior Business Intelligence Engineer National Salary £60,000 - £70,000 London Salary £70,000 - £80,000 We are recruiting for a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to lead our transforming team. This is a great job for someone who wishes to have a real impact on the business by taking ownership of the delivery of a BI Data Asset Strategy for our UK&I General Insurance Claims function. This is a highly technical role, and you will collaborate with Group IT architects, UK IT, Data Privacy, Data Governance, Aviva's Quantum community, other Aviva BI teams and Claims functional areas. Utilising your industry knowledge, you will advise and manage decisions on the BI Engineering technology stack. A bit about the job: Lead and manage a team of skilled BI Engineers, c5-10 with 3 direct reports, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth Provide technical leadership to other BI team members to deliver high quality business intelligence solutions to defined timescales Own the design, build and maintenance of data pipelines into the Claims BI team. Collaborate with and build on the work of Quantum Data Engineering to build out a governed, strategic, Claims data asset for use across UKGI Collaborate with colleagues across Aviva IT/Quantum to improve the ingestion of 3rd party data. Gain business buy in and remove blockages allowing the team to focus on, removing existing manual effort, improving the quality and timeliness of existing feeds as well as setting up the ingestion of new feeds of data Collaborate with peers across UKGI to minimise proliferation and duplication of data ingestion and processing. Work with senior leads of data source providers to ensure the delivery of timely and accurate data to Claims BI Skills and experience we're looking for: Expert knowledge of data architecture, data warehousing and modelling techniques along with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills Broad industry knowledge/best practice of BI Engineering and a thorough understanding of Financial Services businesses and data issues they may face Highly capable lead of transformational change, creating a strong collaborative network. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels, ability to build strong relationships, internally and externally Demonstrable experience in Data Quality Assessment (profiling, anomaly detection) and data documentation (schema, dictionaries) coupled with experience of delivering a data strategy in the financial service sector Creates the standards in writing clean, maintainable, and robust code in SQL or similar languages.
