Job Title: Field Service Engineer II (or) III - BMH & PA (Senior Engineer) Reports to: Senior Manager, Service, Asia Pacific, and Japan (APJ) Group / Division: Production Process and Analytics (PPA); AIG; CAD Career Band: Professional 5 (or) 6 Position Location: Adelaide (or) QLD, Australia Number of Direct Reports: Nil Position Summary: You are expected to work in Mine/Mineral sites with hands-on on the analyzer which uses XRF technology and to create the best possible customer experience through technical support, installation, operator training and repair the analyzer. It will support our growing base across ANZ and APJ. This position has key responsibilities to ensure customer satisfaction and complying customer's safety standards and procedures. This position requires additional drug testing to follow customers' site access requirements. Flexibility to travel, sometimes with limited notice. Weekend & Public Holiday work is sometimes required as well as Out of Hours support to Customers How to make an impact You will join a dedicated Service Team that supports Customers that are using Thermo Fisher Scientific analyzer. These Customers are producing the high-quality fundamental building products of our world and are expecting a highly specialized and fast resolving service. Frequent travel and able to deal with customer's site visits schedule are required for this position. Representing our Company in a positive professional manner dealing with our external - as internal Customers. Owning your tasks and being committed to deliver beyond the required result and delighting your Customer. Work is completed in time with high quality. Electronic knowledge and trouble shooting skills on the equipment have been maintained to the latest standards and you are also familiarized with the mechanical construction and software application that is used for. Any improvements that you identify will be directly discussed with the equipment End Users and followed up until successful completion. Key Responsibilities: On-site service work: Carry out quality technical and professional on-site installation and commissioning (I&C), scheduled preventive maintenance, emergency breakdown visits for the Thermo Scientific online mineral XRF analyzer. And to ensure analyzer provides accurate and consistent analysis with minimum down time. Complete site visit reports (service and commissioning) within time frames as laid down in the relevant work instructions, and or Customer requirements. Ensure all agreed action points are followed up. Handling of radioisotopes as required. Perform Work in accordance with all relevant certification procedures and regulatory requirements Training customers on operation and maintenance of the analyzer. Office service work: Ensure that customers receive first class remote service and support in line with service agreements. Record and logging of customer support/visit interactions in SFDC to maintain the knowledge database and inviting customers to complete a customer allegiance survey to monitor customer feedback. Be available to assist with after-hours work, roster coverage 24/7, on-call weekends if required Product Champion Work in close association with the quality & product support team on RCCM on the recent issues. Product improvement suggestions. Optimization of equipment onsite for better performance Contribute to operational and strategic business plans by advising on contract requirements, installations and overseeing equipment commissioning and maintenance schedules Actively seek out new opportunities to grow service and sales revenue to meet and exceeded regional budgets. Work closely with Commercial and Marketing teams to ensure that customer needs are met, and Company products are positioned correctly and optimally supported in the market Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: Tertiary qualification or bachelor's degree, preferably in Electronic, Mechanical or Mechatronic engineering or a combination of education and experience that demonstrate the required skills. Minimum 3 years of meaningful professional experience in Field Service or maintenance in Mineral beneficiation plants and should have worked with online XRF analyzer. Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, set priorities and consistently meet deadlines. Strong organizational, analytical, process and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Travel, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems or support other field service personnel. Ability to travel internationally and acquire a valid passport. Accountabilities Environment, Health & Safety Prevents accidents by taking personal responsibility for yourself, and any direct reports ensuring that no action or inaction causes harm to any other person or the environment. Conducts proactive hazard identification by notifying EHS, Supervisor / Manager immediately when any conditions or practices may cause personal harm or environmental / property damage. Observes all safety rules, including those in documented procedures, which are established to maintain safe work practices. Uses personal protective equipment (PPE) when the need is identified as part of the hazard management system. Reports any accidents/incidents, (including gradual process injuries) and near misses as soon as possible to EHS, Supervisor / Manager. Recording the event either electronically or in Accident Registers. Quality Carries out tasks in compliance with the agreed procedure to assist the company in meeting its quality objectives. Participates effectively in quality improvement program and promotes co-operative effort between all departments and internal customers. Reports all quality issues to Supervisor / Manager as soon as possible.
