The Client: PPW Services Pty Ltd (PPW) is a privately owned corporation that operates a mechanical services business and fabricates steel products for various Mines, Power Stations and large infrastructure projects. The business is situated in the Upper Hunter Valley of NSW, close to significant mining and Power Station customers. They are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join their team in the Hunter Valley. The Role: It is for a full time role with an annual salary range of $120,000 to $130,000 superannuation. The Responsibilities: Determine, implement, and monitor engineering strategies, policies, and plans tailored to PPW Services' needs and objectives Interpret plans, drawings, and specifications, offering expertise on engineering methods and procedures for power generation, mining, and refining projects Establish project schedules and budgets for power generation, mining, and refining projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, financial constraints, and quality standards Ensure all engineering activities conform to specifications, plans, laws, regulations, and safety standards applicable to power generation, mining, and refining industries Oversee engineering standards to guarantee quality, cost-effectiveness, safety, timeliness, and performance in projects undertaken by PPW Services Supervise maintenance requirements, optimizing efficiency in power generation, mining, and refining operations through proactive maintenance schedules and procedures Liaise with marketing, research, and manufacturing managers within PPW Services, integrating engineering aspects into new construction and product design processes Foster collaboration between different departments to ensure seamless project execution and enhance interdisciplinary cooperation Contribute to research and development projects, focusing on innovations related to power generation, mining, and refining technologies Critically analyze data exported from our Accounting Platform, to project costs current and eventual. Manage budgets for engineering projects, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial plans Identify potential risks in engineering projects related to power generation, mining, and refining, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks Lead and mentor engineering teams, ensuring they are motivated, skilled, and aligned with PPW Services' objectives Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment Engage with clients, understanding their engineering requirements, and providing tailored solutions aligned with PPW Services' capabilities The Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in a related field such as mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering At least 5 years' commercial experience in project management and a broad knowledge of engineering and maintenance At least 5 years' experience in an asset intensive industry preferred e.g. utilities, mining, infrastructure, construction, oil and gas Proficiency in interpreting engineering plans, drawings, and specifications Experience in supplier relationship management. Ability to prepare and present position papers and reports on key business issues. Demonstrated experience in contract management and compliance monitoring programs Strong leadership qualities with the ability to lead and mentor engineering teams effectively, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment Demonstrated experience in developing effective supplier relationship management strategies Ability to build strong relationships and effectively influence key internal stakeholders Ability to manage competing agendas, departmental preferences and stakeholder expectations in order to deliver the best outcomes for the organisation Exceptional Primavera and spreadsheet skills
