The Lendlease in-house legal team is looking to expand its Legal Operations team globally. As such, we are currently recruiting for a Junior Automation Engineer to join our team, based in Sydney, Barangaroo. This has created a truly unique opportunity for a technology professional, recent graduate or someone still studying - looking to take the next step in their career to join our in-house legal team to assist with driving legal operations efficiencies through technologies. You'll have the chance to design and implement cutting-edge legal operations initiatives, leveraging the latest in contract automation and enterprise technology solutions to streamline ways of working. You won't just be a cog in the wheel; you'll play a pivotal role in a world-class, market-leading in-house legal team with a global reach. This role can either be part time (min 3 days per week) or full time. Responsibilities will include: Designing and implementing innovative legal operations initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our global legal team. This will involve project management and change management skills to ensure timely delivery and successful implementation of initiatives. Utilising cutting-edge contract automation systems, such as Contract Express, to facilitate procurement on Lendlease projects. This involves amending template contracts, providing support during onboarding and assistance for new system users. Programming on various applications to startup, develop and maintain functionality. This includes using coding languages to construct frontend interfaces, as well as interacting with backend systems via APIs to obtain, parse and analyse data. Exploring various enterprise technology solutions including Microsoft 365 power apps to design, deliver and maintain tailored solutions for our legal team and the wider business. Identifying process inefficiencies and developing process improvement strategies to streamline workflows, increase operational effectiveness and drive continuous improvement. Applying strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking to identify issues, propose solutions, and make data-driven decisions to address challenges in legal operations. We'd love it if you have: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to establish effective working relationships. A willingness and confidence to interact with internal stakeholders to provide guidance and support from a change management and technical perspective. Strong skills in Microsoft 365, including WORD, EXCEL, SharePoint and Power Platform (desired) Advance skills in Microsoft 365 Power platform to design and build workflows for routine legal requests. Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, JavaScript, HTML) and core programming concepts (e.g. variables, functions, data structures, APIs). Prior coding experience will be very helpful for this role. Knowledge management skills, including using document management systems and SharePoint, enabling efficient organisation and retrieval of legal documents.
