The Quality Engineering Lead will provide technical leadership, supporting the quality engineering team in delivering quality software on a day-to-day basis. You will be responsible for testing Qantas' applications, as well as building & owning our test automation infrastructure. As a Quality Engineering Lead, you will be developing the continuous development of automation scripts, suite, improving and building CI infrastructure. You will be empowered to determine and implement the best solutions. Additionally, you will also be exploring non-functional testing like accessibility/performance/security and improving on testing tools and test approach. The role is responsible for leading a team of quality engineers and supporting them in their roles within their scrum teams, professional development of their skills and competencies, while also contributing to the quality engineering practices within the portfolio. You will Bring: Experience in Technical Leadership preferred, and demonstrable ability to motivate self and others with a passion to mentor Extensive experience with version control tools like Git, GitHub, Jenkins, CI/CD, PR reviews Experience in embedding best practice in application testing within project delivery teams Experience researching and troubleshooting bugs and performance bottlenecks in a production environments Strong knowledge of JavaScript and Java programming languages Experience in working with non-Selenium Testing frameworks like Cypress or Playwright Ability to perform manual testing Thorough knowledge and experience with Unit, Integration, System, End to End, UAT, PVT etc functional testing techniques Extensive proficiency in web desktop/mobile testing performance testing of web and API's Knowledge and experience of cloud platforms and tools, such as, AWS-EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, Redis, Cloud watch etc Understanding of content management systems like Contentful and AEM Mastery in formulating and implementing testing strategies and plans, as well as effectively communicating and advocating for these strategies and estimates with stakeholders Knowledge of Dockers, Containers, Splunk, Swagger etc Experience engaging technical and non-technical partners, with the capability to influence Good to have: Knowledge and experience in Mobile App automation and Cross browser testing tools Expertise in pair programming with functional testers or QA Analyst on automation testing Excellent skills in workshop facilitation, presentation, consultation and negotiation If you're successful in your application, you'll join a team where creativity and passion are encouraged.
