We are on the hunt for an experienced Senior Engineer, with stormwater experience to join our client's team Our client is a specialist environmental and engineering consultancy firm providing water management and infrastructure design services Australia-wide. As part of this role you will be required to work in our clients stormwater team, where a minimum of 4-5 years exposure to similar projects would be ideal With a new office in Melbourne Central, and over 100 employees Australia wide, with 35 in Melbourne, what are you waiting for This is an excellent opportunity to grow alongside a well respected contractor with a workplace that is second to none They are active in the integrated water space and not as active as they would like in the developer space so this is an opportunity for someone to really lead this part of the water team initially and long term. The Role: You will assist by project managing smaller projects with the likes of major players in the Victorian water space. Working with developers on a concept level to ensure the design, modelling and sizing of pipes is all correct. You can expect to be working on anything from Council projects (both metro and regional), through to strategies for parks, flood mapping, wetlands and basins. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, take pride in their work, have attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. What are the benefits? As the Stormwater Engineer you will be responsible for: Planning, development, and design for civil and multi-disciplinary projects including stormwater networks, detention basins, bioretention systems, wetlands, stormwater harvesting ponds, open channels and waterways. Strategic projects which identify and prioritise stormwater management and IWM infrastructure. Undertaking technical works for water quality and waterway civil infrastructure projects. Developing documentation including strategy or design reports. Hydrologic and hydraulic modelling. Erosion and sediment control. Infrastructure planning and risk assessment. Participating in client management and business development. Requirements: A tertiary Engineering degree (essential) with 5 years or more of experience. Strong knowledge and application of relevant standards / guidelines. Knowledge and application of stormwater engineering, hydrological theory, Australian rainfall and runoff and water hydraulics. Professional experience with hydrological and water quality modelling (preferably RORB & MUSIC). High attention to detail, excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to prioritise and multi-task.
