Job Title: Research and Development Engineer Position Summary: As part of SSPG Portfolio Team, this person will project lead the development and documentation of the next generation of products within our own manufactured product group of data and gas loggers. This role requires a wide degree of flexibility, multitasking and an open-minded demeanor with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, solve problems and make key decisions. They will possess strong influencing capacity, customer and result-orientation and leadership to empower the design team as well as a high level of communication, active listening, effective message delivery, long term vision and motivation. Key Responsibilities: Lead new engineering projects. Conceive and scope engineering solutions to maintain and develop the new products to market Develop programs/processes to improve existing product profitability and study of new products/trends to market We are a quality focused organization, so an understanding of compliance and quality management systems including change control, deviations and investigations is required. Work with the product manager/s and ensure that products are launched in a timely manner with all requirements met for the market. Develop detailed product specifications, and conduct feasibility studies Maintain a professional and positive attitude whilst being committed to our company values of integrity, innovation, involvement and intensity. Frequent Contacts: Internal Product manager/s Technical support team Sales team External Liaise with manufacturer and other organisations assisting with the design, manufacture and qualification of the products. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in science or Engineering Proven experience in an engineering function preferably within an industrial environment. Skills & Attributes Ability to collaborate.
