About the role Due to major growth with our clients, Ventia are seeking an experienced Design Engineer within our SAED (Site, Acquisition, Environment and Design) team. Reporting to the SAED Manager, this position will be working with our experienced team on the design of new structures, colocations on third party structures and upgrading existing infrastructure on existing sites. The successful candidate can be based in ANYWHERE in Australia. What you'll be doing: Reporting to the SAED Manager, your duties will be the following but not limited to: Work closely with relevant stakeholders to effectively develop design solutions and ensure that design details and general arrangements are compliant to the Australian Standards, Client guidelines, safe work procedures & Code of Practice Complete structural verifications of new and existing design solutions, as structural assessment and detail structural solutions Coordinate the completion of design package, design reports, Safety in Design and associated documentation to ensure project deliverables are issued in a timely manner to the required standards Manage numerous projects and ensure tight deadlines are met Report on services execution to ensure adherence to the budget, schedule, and scope Effectively liaise with the client/stakeholders for issue resolution and obtaining necessary information & approvals Adopt a proactive and responsive customer service attitude and maintain good working relationships with clients to develop a thorough understanding of client expectations to ensure that clients feel comfortable dealing with Ventia Liaise effectively with Client (NBN) and relevant internal stakeholders for commercial issues relating to designs (e.g., design variations) to ensure that Ventia is able to reduce incurring additional contract risk and cost. About you To be successful in this position you will possess the following: Demonstrated experience working in a consulting or construction environment with exposure to civil and structural construction projects Strong knowledge of major Australian Standards for design Proficient interpersonal and negotiation skills Recognised degree in Electronics/Telecommunications/Civil /Structural Engineering or similar Eligible for or a recognised Member of Institute of Engineers Australia (MIEAust) About Ventia Ventia's Telecommunications business is Australia and New Zealand's largest telecommunications network construction, deployment and maintenance provider.
