About the Role We have a strong focus on finding individuals with the right values, leadership capability, and communication skills. Reporting to the Superintendent Planning, this opportunity will involve working on a variety of tasks to support the production scheduling team to ensure that efficiency and quality targets are met in a safe and timely manner. This position is a site-based role, from Perth, with responsibilities for: Serving as the conduit between planning, operations and other key stakeholders, providing technical guidance and support that enables both the schedule and execution thereof Utilising sound judgment in the application of inputs to effectively schedule production activities in alignment with the daily and weekly mine plans Ensuring all schedules and designs consider practicality, productivity and safety considerations, and work packs are created and adequately communicated to mine operations Driving our safety culture through quality field leadership Ensuring sound engagement of key stakeholders both with regards to gathering plan inputs and the communication of plan outputs Undertaking analytics and identifying improvement opportunities About You We are looking for someone with the desire to learn and be exposed to all facets of mine planning and production engineering roles. This is an excellent development opportunity with sound support structures in place to facilitate learning and development through roles. Desirable Skills: A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering (or related discipline) is desirable but not mandatory Experience in mine design and scheduling would be highly advantageous Diverse experience in engineering, scheduling, operations or CAD design within related industries such as processing, civil, transport or logistics industries will be viewed favourably Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills are required to influence stakeholders in the delivery of positive business outcomes Mine planning software skills (Vulcan, XACT, Alastri), desirable not essential A C class drivers licence Location Nickel West Mt Keith is located 460 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in the Northern Goldfields. Nickel West Mt Keith is a surface mining operation with multiple open pits and a concentrator plant. The operation is surrounded by pastoral stations, with the nearest townships being Leinster and Wiluna. There's plenty to keep you entertained in the Mt Keith Village. Take the heat off the day and head to the pool - or join in any number of social activities. Employees commute to and from Perth on a fly in / fly out roster or form regional areas on a drive in / drive out roster.
