Cleared are currently working with Defence & are looking to speak to a NV1 Wintel Engineer based in Canberra for a 12-month contract plus a 1 x 12-month extension option with the successful candidate required to start immediately This is a major Defence project & the Wintel Engineer will work on the build and sustainment of an Australian Defence Force capability for hosting a software defined data centre. Canberra Based Offices must be Onsite. 12 Month Contract plus 1 x 12-month extension option & Immediate Start Responsibilities The Wintel Engineer will be required to perform and/or have responsibility for duties including, but not limited to Position Description: Build, test and sustain Wintel and other technologies as per the agreed design. Monitor and report on the results of build activities. Required to perform and/or have responsibility for duties including, but not limited to: The implementation and transition to support of Wintel and other technology. components. Contributes to the writing of Technical Implementation Instructions. Work closely with the Lead Architect and other team Engineers to build and test. the system. Assist the Business Analyst to complete and/or review technical support. artefacts, test documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Any other tasks reasonably requested by the program. Skills and Experience: Mandatory: Must have previous project work experience. This is not a system. administration role. At least 7 years in installing, configuring, enhancing, and maintaining Wintel. deployments. Installation, configuration, tuning and management of WINTEL products. ((Windows, SQL, VMware, PKI, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Microsoft Exchange). Desirable: NetApp Storage TITUS VMWare VCF experience (including vSAN, NSX, vRealise) VEEAM Trellix (McAffee Security Suite Desirable: Strong consideration will be given to candidates with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with Joint / Coalition Defence environments. Experience working within the Defence environment. Knowledge and skills in the design, implementation, and configuration of automation and orchestration technologies and services, for example Ansible, Git, Scripting. Negative Vetting 2 (NV1) is required. Candidates with NV1 would be considered on the condition that they have completed and submitted a security pack (NV1 to NV2 upgrade) to the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) prior to commencement.
